As scientists suggest, "smart" wives are better versed in various diets and can tell their partners what they should eat, as well as how to lead a more or less healthy lifestyle. "Women traditionally take on more responsibility for the household. As a result, their level of education determines the lifestyle of a married couple. In particular, they are responsible for the diet," says an article on the study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.

In addition, a well-educated woman is better versed in which treatment to choose for a particular disease, which also has a positive effect on the "service life" of the partner. However, the relationship between a man and a woman in the matter of life expectancy is not one-sided: a woman lives longer if her partner is wealthy. Especially often the spouses of poor husbands die from diseases of the cardiovascular system.
