Advertising of medical services on the Internet: further growth is expected

Constant analysis of the medical services market conducted by specialists of a leading consulting company in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals is a disease.<url> (MedFarmConsulting) – shows that as of June 2009, up to 60% of clinics in Moscow and St. Petersburg have their own websites and more than 22% actively use them as a way to attract new customers. At the beginning of 2007, according to the company, such an indicator was no more than 30% and 7%, respectively.

"We note a significant redistribution of the budgets of medical companies towards online advertising," comments the advertising director of the Disease.<url> Elena Mikhailova, – however, the indicator of the use of online advertising as an active way of attracting customers at 22% suggests that medical companies are still at the very beginning of the road and are in many ways inferior to participants in other markets here. We believe that the crisis played a significant role in the ongoing growth, forcing us to look for alternative ways of advertising and communication with potential customers. At the same time, we note a certain paradox, which consists in the fact that among small private institutions at the moment the percentage of involvement in the Internet space is significantly lower than among large clinics, despite the fact that it is for these institutions that online advertising is especially profitable and provides an opportunity to fully secure the flow of customers with a minimum budget."

According to experts, the disease.<url>, competition on Internet advertising platforms among private medical clinics will grow gradually. At the same time, specialists are an Ailment.<url> notes that at the moment the possibilities of online advertising in this segment of the business are significantly underestimated by the owners of medical clinics, and taking into account the continuing growth of the Internet audience in Russia, the emergence of real competition for customers between medical clinics on the Internet is still ahead.
