Berlusconi's good intentions

Berlusconi to fund research to increase life expectancyRIA News
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi intends to fund research to increase life expectancy to 120 years.

"I will now finance one of the Italian institutes, headed by a priest who is very old and looks like a young man. He works, helps the Italian medical system, but he has a dream – to increase the average life expectancy to 120 years, and not only add years to life, but also quality to these years of life," Berlusconi said, speaking at the World Political Forum in Yaroslavl on Friday.

"It may seem that this is an excessive dream, but if you think that at the beginning of the 19th century the average life expectancy was 23 years, and at the beginning of the 20th century it was 43, then today it is about 80 years," he said.

According to him, with the help of the treatment of those diseases that previous generations had, with the help of studying heredity, the possibility of a healthy diet, it is possible to increase life expectancy beyond the current 80 years.

We wish Signor Berlusconi success in his endeavor and happiness in his personal life – VM.
