Biotechnology – medicine of the future 2019
The multi–conference "Biotechnology - medicine of the future" has started its work
At the event, representatives of fundamental science, employees of biomedical enterprises and practitioners met to discuss the design of biological molecules, molecular devices, modified microorganisms and cells, as well as the creation of new approaches to personalized and regenerative medicine.
This year, the multi–conference "Biotechnology - medicine of the future" is timed to the 35th anniversary of the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine SB RAS, which is one of the international leaders in the creation of gene-directed biologically active substances, the development of biotechnological approaches in gene therapy, the study of the physico-chemical foundations of the processes of transmission and preservation of hereditary information. The conference will be attended by leading Russian and foreign scientists, graduate students and students of RAS institutes.
The event was organized by IHBFM SB RAS, Novosibirsk State University, SAE "Synthetic Biology", Technopark of Novosibirsk Akademgorodok and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Sections of the conference are devoted to the creation and application of oncolytic viruses, therapeutic nucleic acids, preparations based on cells and vesicles produced by them. Scientists will talk about the possibilities of synthetic biology for biomedicine and discuss genetic technologies (including safety problems associated with them). They will also consider in detail bacteriophages, their prospects in microbiota management and therapy of infectious diseases. Special attention at this year's conference will be paid to the human microbiome: its composition, key biomarkers and ways of correction in pathologies. In addition, the researchers will talk about how the Center for Collective Use "Siberian Ring Photon Source" (CCP "SKIF") can be useful to modern medicine.
