Four Dolly slices

Dolly's Rebirth: Four clones of the Sheep that Changed Science have been created
Dolly reborn! Four clones created of sheep that changed scienceBy Fiona Macrae, Daily Mail, 30th November 2010

Translation: InopressaThree and a half years ago in the UK, as a result of cloning, four copies of Dolly the sheep were born, who was born in 1996 and was put to sleep at the age of six (thus scientists decided to save her from the torment associated with severe lung disease and arthritis).

From a genetic point of view, the quadruplets are identical to Dolly and each other.

They are currently living a carefree life on the grounds of the University of Nottingham under the supervision of Professor Keith Campbell. "We don't do anything with them, they have no health problems, and none of them shows any signs of arthritis, which Dolly had," the scientist said.

According to Campbell, cloning technology is still far from ideal, but the chances of clones surviving have increased. When creating the first Dolly from 277 eggs, it was possible to grow only one individual. This time it took only five embryos to get four animals, the tabloid explains.
