Give life

Starting today, a charitable VISA bank card issued with the assistance of the Gift of Life Foundation can be purchased in all branches of Sberbank. Paying with this card, its owner transfers 0.3% of the amount of each purchase to help children with oncological and hematological diseases under the care of the foundation.

This was announced today at a press conference attended by German Gref, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia, Galina Novichkova, Deputy Director of the Federal Center for Pediatric Hematology, Chulpan Khamatova and Dina Korzun, founders of the Gift of Life! Foundation, and Maarten van den Belt, CEO of VISA in Russia.

The charity bank card has no analogues in Russia today. It gives an opportunity to participate in charity without making an effort to those who did not know how to do it before. There are two ways to donate funds.

The first is to pay for purchases with a charity card. For each transaction, 0.3% of the purchase amount will be debited from the account. That is, for every 1,000 rubles spent, three rubles are donated to the charity fund. For its part, Sberbank also donates 0.3% - thus, 0.6% of the purchase amount made by the cardholder will be sent to the fund's account. Sberbank will also transfer 50% of the cost of annual card maintenance for the first year to the fund's account.

The second way to make a donation is to send a money transfer from the account using an SMS message. Commission for such SMS is not charged.

Reports on cash receipts for each month can be seen on the website of the fund "Give life!".
