Google for Parkinsonists

The World Evil Empire (??? – VM) bought the developer of a smart spoon
for those suffering from Parkinson's disease

PlayGroundGoogle has acquired the startup Lift Labs, which introduced an electronic spoon that allows sufferers of Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases to take liquid food (soup, for example) on their own.

The device compensates for tremor due to its own movements, adjusting to the amplitude of the movements of the human hand.

Lift Labs will join the "secret laboratory" of Google X, which is developing promising devices, but will continue to sell the Liftware smart spoon. It is noted that in addition to the spoon, the company, even before its absorption by the search corporation, was engaged in the creation of a similar fork and a key fob.

In the future, the Google X team will search for new areas of application of Lift Labs technologies. As The Verge notes, Google's sphere of interests is constantly expanding and sometimes in the most unexpected directions. So, some time ago she founded the company Calico to find ways to prolong human life, and also acquired a drug manufacturer.
