"Krasfarma" funeral service

Alexey Tarasov, Novaya GazetaThe production of antibiotics and infusion solutions has become unprofitable in Russia.

The largest medicinal plant beyond the Urals, Kraspharma, will completely stop on March 31. 1070 employees have already received notification of the reduction. Meanwhile, JSC "Kraspharma", formerly the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the 60th Anniversary of the USSR, the Krasnoyarsk Medicines Plant is one of the largest producers of domestic antibiotics, the only producer of gramicidin C, polyamine.

From the local crisis of 2002-2003, when the production of penicillin and streptomycin was discontinued due to unprofitability, and more than 700 employees were cut, the plant got out. He continued to produce almost two dozen names of antibiotics and the same number of different blood substitutes and infusion solutions. Nevertheless, workers and engineers continued to be laid off, last year the cuts became massive, and the dismantling of equipment was put on stream.

The controlling stake of Kraspharma (50.3%) belonged to Valente (formerly JSC "Domestic Medicines"). In November last year, the holding sold this package. The authorities do not name the new owner, but, according to their assurances, he intends to modernize production within a year and a half. In the regional federation of trade unions, they doubt the success of resuscitation measures, most likely, they say there, a hotel complex will appear on the factory square.
