Leather Doll: Japanese approach

To demonstrate the effectiveness of their new method of forming three-dimensional biological structures from individual cells, Japanese scientists have done absolutely... in Japanese. They grew a doll out of living cells.

In the message of Professor Shoji Takeuchi's group, it is said that this team managed to create a small (only 5 mm high) figure made of 100 thousand cell capsules. Each such capsule is a 0.1-millimeter sphere of collagen protein (this is a common connective tissue protein), covered with several dozen skin cells.

Having "molded" a figurine from these capsules, the scientists placed it in a suitable nutrient solution and noticed that it remained alive for more than a day. It is clear that no Golem was created: it was not the doll that was alive, but the cells that made it up, but the originality of Japanese thinking can only be amazed.

However, all this is not done with the aim of hitting someone. According to Shoji Takeuchi, a similar technique has been successfully tested on human liver cells, and one day it can be used to grow complex cellular structures, and possibly whole organs. Any shape.
