In South Korea, they invented ice cream for hangovers
Copper news
South Korean scientists have proposed a new way to deal with a hangover, which may be the most pleasant of all existing. They created Gyeondyo-bar ice cream. The grapefruit-flavored dessert has already gone on sale.
Ice cream manufacturers claim that ice cream really helps to fight a hangover. It contains the juice of the govenia, also known as the candy tree. The juice of the candy tree has long been used in Korean medicine precisely to eliminate unpleasant symptoms associated with the use of large amounts of alcohol.
In 2012, researchers found that the administration of ampelopsin, an active substance contained in the plant extract of the candy tree, prevented intoxication in rats. Gyeondyo-bar ice cream contains 0.7% govenia extract. So far, ice cream is sold only in South Korea and is not delivered to other countries.
