RUSNANO and RAS: we sow reasonable, kind, venture...

RUSNANO and the Russian Academy of Sciences have decided to establish a Technology Transfer Center (TTC). This project is being implemented within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Corporation and the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The task of the Center is to commercialize knowledge and technologies developed by scientific institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Projects created as a result of the center's activities, as soon as they are ready, will be sent as applications to RUSNANO, and, subsequently, to seed and venture investment funds.

"It is necessary to make the results of scientific research understandable for business and investment attractive. This, among other things, will be handled by the Technology Transfer Center," says Yevgeny Evdokimov, Managing Director of the Department for Infrastructure Activities of RUSNANO.

The Center's staff, with the help of external experts, will conduct scientific and technical expertise and determine the commercial attractiveness of the technologies presented. For projects that have passed this stage of selection, the business component will be finalized, including the development of a business model, a marketing plan and a business plan for the project.

As the CTT's activities develop, monitoring of the external environment in search of technological trends and problems, as well as analysis of roadmaps for the development of industries, will become an important functional area. In the future, the Center will analyze the capabilities of RAS institutes in solving technological problems and creating the necessary products and technologies to meet the needs of the market.

The Technology Transfer Center is established in the form of a non-profit partnership between RUSNANO and the Russian Academy of Sciences. The total budget of the project will be 65.4 million rubles, of which RUSNANO will finance 34.94 million rubles.
