Russian and California scientists will create a scientific and medical consortium

Irina Smirnitskaya, Rosmedia News agency, especially for the Russian World portalThe Russian Center for Living Systems of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, the Severny Biopharmaceutical cluster and the University of California at San Diego signed a memorandum of understanding.

The document provides for an open exchange of experience and research results between organizations in order to develop innovative methods of therapy and treatment of cancer and neurological diseases.

The agreement on the creation of the consortium was signed at the international biotechnology Congress BIO International Convention – 2014, ITAR-TASS reports.

The consortium will develop and market biological materials, medical and diagnostic devices, as well as high-precision analysis of data obtained at universities.

The Center for Living Systems of MIPT and BFC "Severny" will make technologies and developments in the field of biomedicine and biophysics, as well as innovative pharmacological preparations of MIPT available for use by the University of California. The University of California at San Diego will provide MIPT with access to unique technologies in the field of cancer research, neurology and metabolic diseases and will contribute to the introduction of innovative mechanisms of therapy and treatment created during the consortium's operation.
