Sperm donor is not a dusty and highly paid job

In the UK, compensation to egg donors will be tripledCopper news
The UK authorities have decided to triple the amount of compensation to egg donors.

According to The Press Association (£750 for women who donate IVF eggs), the relevant decision was made at a meeting of the British supervisory authority in the field of fertilization and embryology (Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority, HFEA) on Wednesday, October 19.

Egg and sperm donation in the UK is free. However, donors are entitled to compensation of wages for the time spent on the procedure. The maximum amount of compensation used to be 250 pounds.

According to the decision of the HFEA, the limit of one-time payments to egg donors will be increased to 750 pounds. A similar decision was made by the supervisory authority in relation to Britons who want to become sperm donors. Men will be paid 35 pounds for each visit to the appropriate clinic.

These measures are aimed at supporting egg and sperm donation and increasing the number of donors. Currently, Britons who want to use someone else's eggs have to wait for a donor for five or more years. In this regard, many residents of the UK prefer to receive such services abroad, most often in Spain and the USA, where there are more donors.
