The Chairman of the Commission has died – long live the fight against pseudoscience!

The Russian Academy of Sciences Commission on Combating Pseudoscience will continue its work
after the death of Academician Kruglyakov

RIA NewsThe Commission of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) on combating pseudoscience and falsification of scientific research will exist after the passing of its chairman, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Eduard Kruglyakov, who died on Tuesday in Novosibirsk, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Month told RIA Novosti.

"The Commission will undoubtedly exist, there are people who can head it – outstanding people, physicists, we will consider this issue," said the Month.

"I think this issue will be resolved within a month," he added.

The Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences noted that the need for such a commission does not weaken, since manifestations of pseudoscience are more and more common in public life. The month gave an example of the discussion of the "perpetual motion machine" at a meeting in Skolkovo.

Academician Valery Rubakov, deputy chairman of the commission on combating pseudoscience, said earlier that it would be difficult to find a replacement for Kruglyakov.

Farewell to Eduard Kruglyakov will take place on Friday, November 9, at 14.00 (11.00 Moscow time) in the lobby of the main building of the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics SB RAS.
