Cell therapy for the Deputy Prime Minister
Sergey Ivanov got acquainted with the works of scientists in the field of cell therapy
Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov, at the invitation of the Interregional Public Organization of Specialists in Cellular Technologies and Regenerative Medicine, visited the Russian Scientific Center of Surgery of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences on March 24. This is reported in the materials of the press service of the organization. During his visit, Ivanov got acquainted with the results of the work of Russian scientists in the field of myocardial cell therapy and the treatment of chronic lower limb ischemia with the help of genetically engineered structures.
Then a round table was held at which scientists exchanged views with the Deputy Prime Minister on topical issues and problems in the development of biomedical technologies based on stem cells.

In particular, the proposal was approved on the feasibility of creating a scientific center in the structure of the Ministry of Health and the SR of the Russian Federation, which would ensure the effective formation of this scientific direction in the Russian Federation, the development of the necessary regulatory framework and proper expert evaluation of biomedical technologies. The Deputy Prime Minister noted the importance of this direction for the innovative development of biomedical science.
The participants of the round table agreed on the need for state support of biomedical technologies (cell technologies, gene therapy, tissue engineering) as an important component in ensuring Russia's national security in the field of healthcare.
