Rospotrebnadzor counted overweight people in the Krasnoyarsk Territory
The prevalence of obesity in the Krasnoyarsk Territory averaged 10 cases per 1000 people. Such statistics are published today by the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor. For comparison: at the end of last year, this figure was significantly lower – 9 cases out of 1000.
The department notes that the prevalence of obesity among the population of the region has been growing for 5 years.
According to Rospotrebnadzor specialists, obesity is most often registered among the population of the Karatuzsky district – 2.8 times higher than the morbidity rate of the population as a whole in the region. The incidence rate is growing in 30 districts and cities of the region, including Achinsk, Kansk, Lesosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Norilsk, etc.
"The problem of excess weight is more common among the adult population – this is 76.8 percent of patients. At the same time, 16.8 percent is accounted for by the child population, and 6.5 percent is for teenagers," the ministry said.
Rospotrebnadzor summarizes that the development of obesity is associated with poor nutrition. Heredity is of great importance in the development of obesity. Obesity is a risk factor for severe diseases such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, myocardial infarction, diabetes mellitus, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, etc.
