The "older generation" in St. Petersburg
On April 23-26, Lenexpo hosts the IX International Forum "The Older Generation"
The IX International Forum "The Older Generation" takes place from April 23 to 26 at the Lenexpo exhibition complex. This is the only congress and exhibition project in Russia aimed at attracting the attention of Russian society to the problems of the elderly and finding solutions to them. The Forum will be attended by more than 150 organizations and enterprises from different regions of Russia, CIS countries, as well as Germany, Sweden, Finland and Japan.
The main purpose of the Forum is to generalize regional and international experience in the formation and development of the system of social protection of elderly and disabled citizens, to present the possibilities of medical care, to familiarize with the projects of the state, business and public organizations, to form a fundamentally and qualitatively new idea of the elderly. One of the main objectives of the campaign is to promote domestic producers of goods and services for the elderly and stimulate the growth of production of goods and services for this category of citizens.
The central event of the business program will be the congress "Social adaptation, support and health of the elderly in modern society". The event will address such important issues as innovative approaches to the provision of medical services for elderly patients, ways to improve the health and quality of life of older people.
The Committee on Labor and Employment of the Population organizes a job fair, where about 30 employers will present jobs for senior citizens. For lovers of suburban recreation, the Department for the Development of Horticulture and Horticulture will hold a series of master classes on growing vegetables, berries, flowers. Private boarding houses for the elderly will present their opportunities. The interactive zone "Izba-reading room" will introduce citizens to the possibilities of maintaining social activity and adapting to modern living conditions. Visitors will be told about the peculiarities of nutrition in old age, special gymnastics, the nuances of effective financial management, as well as techniques for preserving memory. Public organizations "Silver Age" and "Association of Veterans, invalids and Pensioners" will hold classes on computer literacy.
The cultural program includes performances by dance and vocal groups, and elderly people will be able to show themselves at the competition of dancers of elegant age "Dance while young" and the Festival of health gymnastics "St. Petersburg Grace-2014".
